An Interview With Jacob Stiefel

frontpageQ: If you could “uninvent” one thing in the world so that it would no longer exist, what would you choose?

A: Karaoke

Q: As an artist you have a bird’s eye view for “people watching.” Describe a people watching experience that sticks out in your mind.

A: I LOVE people watching. It’s mean, but I love to see people slip and fall. They lose all body control.

Q: Tic-Tac-Toe is the game and you get to make the first move. Do you choose X or O? Where do you make your first mark?

A: X, bottom left corner.

Q: What were three superstitions you heard growing up?

A: 1 - Don’t close a knife someone else opened. 2 – Don’t walk under a opened ladder. 3 – Don’t open an umbrella inside.

Q: If you could take any job for just one month, what job would you like to have? (Assume you have the skills to perform adequately.)

A: Professional golfer or fisherman.

Q: What is the longest line you have ever stood in? What kind of line do you absolutely hate to stand in?

A: To get into an AC/DC concert in Nashville in 2001 – I hate all lines.

Q: Suppose for a moment that you are truly colorblind: all you can see is black and white. Then one day you wake up to find you can now see one color. Which color would you want it to be?

A: Crimson/red. It is the University of Alabama’s color and it is on the Alabama state flag.

Q: If you could have been there to witness any specific moment in sports history, what moment would you choose?

A: Goal line, ’79 Sugar Bowl, University of Alabama v. Penn State.

Q: When people find out what you do for a living, what is the most typical question that they are likely to ask you regarding your job? How do you respond to that question?

A: “What kind of music do you play?” - “The good kind. Haha, a mixture of Southern Rock, Country, and Rock and Roll. Whatever feels right.”

Q: What’s your favorite quote?

“The best way to remember someone is in a song, because every time you sing it, they're right back there with you.” – Jerry Jeff Walker
