An Interview With the Strangers

frontpageQ: Most people have a favorite story or experience that they love to share with other people.

Here’s your chance: What’s your story?

A: I won a ram at the State fair in Arkansas. Yes, a real ram… I named him “Abaram” and he grew up following me around like a dog. He used to walk me to the bus stop and also try to follow me into the house. The older he got, the meaner he got and if you turned your back on him… you got hit by a ram at a full run. He eventually just disappeared and I was young enough that I didn’t really question too much where he ran off to. Then, I asked about him ten years later at Christmas and my Mom and Dad told me we ate him for Thanksgiving. The end. (Yes, this is a true story.)

Q: What month of the year do you think would best describe your personality? Why?

A: March, because it can still be cold and back and forth but it still has a bunch of nice days that remind you of what’s to come.

Q: “Pay it Forward” what does this concept mean to you?

A: PAY YOUR DUES! It will all come back around and benefit you in the long run!

Q: So you both work in a boot store, but neither of you wear boots, you prefer chucks. How can you sell boots when you don’t personally wear them?

A: I have 31 pairs of boots… I’m a boot whore. I just can’t rock out with boots on, too slick! I can tell you every part of a boot and yes, I wear them every day for about 8 hours!

Q: Abracadabra: What is the one thing you would want to instantly happen every time you said this word.

A: ABRACADABRA! I wish every time I said that I played guitar more like Derek Trucks and looked and sang more like Scott Weiland. Oh, and unlimited Dr. Pepper, haha!

Q: What is your favorite saying or quote?

A: If you have a problem with the truth, that’s between you and the truth. So leave me the f*^k out of it. – Brandon Onstad

Q: Which particular historical document (or portion thereof) do you think every American should know by heart?

A: The Pledge of Allegiance

Q: How did you meet?

A: We met at 2nd Avenue Live one night. We were introduced by Ross, our old drummer, and we starting playing acoustic gigs from there and never looked back.

Q: What punctuation mark would best describe The Strangers personality?

A: A big fat .. !!!

Q: If you were making your national debut on a talk show, which talk show would you choose?

A: David Letterman. He’s the only one that doesn’t suck.

frontpageQ: Most people have a favorite story or experience that they love to share with other people.

Here’s your chance: What’s your story?

A: I once got to meet my hero Dickey Betts. He was the guitar player that played along side Dwayne Allman in the Allman Brothers. I actually got to play rambling man with him on an acoustic.

Q: What month of the year do you think would best describe your personality? Why?

A: November – Because it can be cold and not fun sometimes, but it’s also a month of being thankful.

Q: “Pay it Forward” what does this concept mean to you?

A: “You get what you work for.”

Q: So you both work in a boot store, but neither of you wear boots, you prefer chucks. How can you sell boots when you don’t personally wear them?

A: I just needed a part time job. I’m country as a Turnip Green but I just don’t like boots, not me.

A: Forever always seems to be around when things begin, but forever never seems to be around when things end. – Ben Harper

Q: Which particular historical document (or portion thereof) do you think every American should know by heart?

A: I’m not sure about that, but I love reading and studying the Kennedy assassination.

Q: How did you meet?

A: I met Jon the first day I moved to Nashville. We became friends right off the bat.

Q: What punctuation mark would best describe The Strangers personality?

A: The cliché thing to say would be “!”. To me, it’s a period. Cause we are who we are, we do what we do, period.

Q: If you were making your national debut on a talk show, which talk show would you choose?

A: Conan.
